About Capital Area Recovery Program
Known for its vibrant Creole and Cajun culture, Baton Rouge is home to the Capital Area Recovery Program. This 28-day residential program provides addiction and co-occurring disorder treatment for Louisiana men. You can access ongoing support, including social detox and medication assisted treatment (MAT).
Discounted Sliding Scale Fees
A great feature I noticed was their discounted fees. They offer a sliding scale schedule, along with accepting most major private insurances, Medicare, and Medicaid. You may be eligible for discounted fees based on your income and household size.
They’re open 24/7. But you need an appointment to get in.
Specialized Criminal Justice Track
What stood out most to me was their co-occurring treatment services for individuals in the criminal justice system after they’re released from incarceration. You can access tailored care, including motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral therapy. They also work with you to identify and address criminogenic thinking patterns while promoting positive activities.
Vocational Rehabilitation & Educational Services
I also think it’s great that they provide educational and vocational services. You’ll benefit from ongoing support to improve your education and find a fulfilling career. They even offer job placement assistance. That way, you can leave treatment with a solid foundation for lasting recovery.
Their holistic approach was also impressive. You can participate in recreational and physical fitness activities to promote overall well being. They also provide pastoral services to help you find deeper meaning in recovery.
Gambling Services
I also think their problem gambling services seem fantastic. While often overlooked, gambling can be just as detrimental to your quality of life as substances. You can participate in gambling screening and treatment referrals to get to the root of your behaviors and build coping skills.

Levels of Care
-
Inpatient
Inpatient and residential programs provide round-the-clock medical and emotional support as you live at the treatment facility. This level of care may be recommended if you have severe addictions or mental health conditions since it removes outside distractions and allows you to focus solely on therapy.
-
Outpatient
In outpatient therapy, you’ll attend therapy sessions several times each week while living at home. This is ideal if you have a strong support system and a lower risk of relapse. Outpatient treatment offers flexibility to maintain work, school or family obligations.
Detox Service Setting
-
Inpatient Detox
Inpatient detox occurs in a dedicated treatment facility. You’ll live there around the clock and receive intensive medical support and supervision to help manage your withdrawal symptoms. It is suitable for individuals with moderate to severe addictions as it ensures a stable detox environment.
-
Outpatient Detox
Outpatient detox gives you access to medically supervised withdrawal services while still allowing you to live at home. You’ll attend a clinic for treatment and monitoring. This flexible option is suitable for those with mild to moderate withdrawal symptoms who have strong support systems.
