Focus Treatment Centers

About Focus Treatment Centers
The Focus Treatment Center in a quiet corner of Chattanooga, Tennessee, provides individual treatment plans to clients seeking recovery from substance use disorder, eating disorders, or a dual diagnosis, that is, struggling with addiction and a complicated relationship with food at the same time. They offer a full continuum of care from medical detoxification and residential treatment to outpatient programs and aftercare.
The good news is that Focus is in network with most major insurance carriers and they will verify your coverage for you.
The medical detox program is usually the first step in your recovery journey with focus, which lasts between 4-10 days depending on the severity and duration of your addiction. Detox is a daunting process, but you’ll be monitored 24/7 by experienced medical staff who will ensure your safety and comfort. You’ll receive proven medications that calm withdrawal symptoms and cravings, to minimize your discomfort throughout the process. If any co-occurring medical or mental health issues arise during detox, treatment methods will be put in place. It’s great that Focus also provides detox tailored to pregnant clients in close collaboration with their OBGYN to ensure a safe and comfortable process for both parent and baby.
After detox, it’s a seamless transition into Focus’ residential treatment program. Here you’ll receive a personalized care plan that will consist of a variety of services to address your individual issues. These services include individual and group therapies, medical treatment, family counseling, 12 Step meetings, mindfulness, life skills training, art therapy, adventure programming, stress management, and discharge planning to prevent relapse. There’s also hiking trails, yoga, and exercise programs to get you fit physically and mentally.
Following graduation from residential treatment, you can continue your recovery in one of Focus’ outpatient programs. Plus, there’s an alumni program that provides ongoing support for former clients.

Partial hospitalization programs provide comprehensive treatment in a structured setting during the day but allow you to return home at night. These programs offer a balance of inpatient and outpatient rehab and provide intensive support without full time residency. |
Inpatient and residential programs provide round-the-clock medical and emotional support as you live at the treatment facility. This level of care may be recommended if you have severe addictions or mental health conditions since it removes outside distractions and allows you to focus solely on therapy. |

Having struggled with her mental health, Gemma has spent much of her writing career focused on topics surrounding behavioral health and stigmatized health issues, such as eating disorders, depression, obesity, and sexually transmitted diseases. It was a natural step to write about addiction, with her background in Biology and Research Science playing a key role in understanding chemical dependency as a disease. By writing about drug rehabilitation in an accessible and compassionate way, she hopes more people will feel encouraged to seek help.
