About Mercy House Adult & Teen Challenge
Mercy House Adult and Teen Challenge is located in Jackson, Mississippi. It’s on the outskirts of town, not far from the Pearl River. This is a residential treatment program for men aged 18 and older. It started in 1960. If you or a loved one have addiction or substance use issues, this treatment program can be a supportive next step in your recovery process.
While they don’t offer medication assisted treatment or detox, this treatment program can be a supportive next step once you’ve safely detoxed and are stable.
This residential treatment program has a non refundable admission fee, after which the cost of care can be covered through both private and public insurance policies.
Long-Term Residential Care
This treatment program spans 14 months and is broken up into three phases. Throughout the phases, Christ based philosophies will be the backbone of your treatment. The first phase focuses on understanding your purpose and addressing past struggles that have contributed to your addiction challenges.
The next phase have you diving into skill building, conflict resolution, and Bible study. When you enter phase 3, you’ll begin transitioning into a home environment and working on life and job readiness skills to maintain your independence.
This might include obtaining a driver’s license, seeking employment, and improving relationships with loved ones. Finally, the fourth stage centers on transitioning into the alumni home and pursuing your independence fully.
Positive Client Experiences
Many men who’ve gone through this program report high satisfaction with the treatment they’ve received and the supportive care they benefited from. Their alumni program has especially high accolades because it’s helped adults build on the foundation they’ve established in recovery.
Levels of Care
-
Inpatient
Inpatient and residential programs provide round-the-clock medical and emotional support as you live at the treatment facility. This level of care may be recommended if you have severe addictions or mental health conditions since it removes outside distractions and allows you to focus solely on therapy.
-
Outpatient
In outpatient therapy, you’ll attend therapy sessions several times each week while living at home. This is ideal if you have a strong support system and a lower risk of relapse. Outpatient treatment offers flexibility to maintain work, school or family obligations.
Detox Service Setting
-
Inpatient Detox
Inpatient detox occurs in a dedicated treatment facility. You’ll live there around the clock and receive intensive medical support and supervision to help manage your withdrawal symptoms. It is suitable for individuals with moderate to severe addictions as it ensures a stable detox environment.
-
Outpatient Detox
Outpatient detox gives you access to medically supervised withdrawal services while still allowing you to live at home. You’ll attend a clinic for treatment and monitoring. This flexible option is suitable for those with mild to moderate withdrawal symptoms who have strong support systems.
Programs
