About MAAS New Haven

Multicultural Ambulatory Addictions Services (MAAS) in New Haven runs a structured intensive outpatient program which includes medication assisted treatment (MAT) services. They serve adult men and women facing addiction who are unlikely to sustain sobriety without help. MAAS New Haven offers all their services in English and Spanish via their Latino Behavioral Health Services to ensure you understand every aspect of the treatment you receive.

MAAS is located in New Haven, Connecticut, the city that hosts Yale University, the gorgeous West Peak mountain, and a thriving art and music scene. When recovering from addiction, it’s important to find healthy hobbies and sober activities to enjoy, so that you can avoid relapsing due to boredom. New Haven is a great town to recover in because of its wide variety of museums, art galleries, and walking trails. There’s always something to do in between treatment sessions to keep your body healthy and soul fulfilled.

The day treatment program involves no fewer than three hours of programming for three days a week. The sessions include therapy, recovery coaching, gender-specific counseling, and pharmacotherapy for addiction and co-occurring disorders.

The MAAS MAT program uses methadone or buprenorphine to reduce cravings and withdrawal symptoms as your body adjusts to the lack of substances. If your body stabilizes faster than the usual timeline, their ambulatory detoxification unit can provide a shorter term taper. They can also reduce the intensity of the outpatient program to qualifying individuals.

One thing I liked about MAAS New Haven is that they focus their care on populations that often go under-served. They have culture-specific programs through their Latino Behavioral Health Services, and they have onsite babysitting facilities so that you can attend your sessions even when responsible for under school-age children.
