Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center of Addiction Medicine is a hospital based addiction treatment provider in Baltimore, Maryland offering a full continuum of care for adults facing substance use disorders.

Services include inpatient medical detoxification and outpatient addiction treatment with medication assisted treatment and specialty consultation for hospitalized patients with addiction needs. The Addiction Medicine Unit accepts Medical Assistance (Medicaid) and Medicare.

What addiction treatment programs are available?

The Addiction Medicine Unit provides inpatient medical detox on a 12 bed unit for alcohol and benzodiazepine withdrawal with recovery groups, 12 step programming, and discharge planning. Addiction Treatment Services offers outpatient care for one to three hours per week with methadone and buprenorphine medication assisted treatment.

The Inpatient Addiction Consult Service supports patients already admitted to the hospital by initiating medications for substance use disorders and connecting them to treatment after discharge.

The center serves adults with substance use disorders including those with co-occurring psychiatric illnesses or complex medical conditions. The Comprehensive Addiction and Pregnancy program provides specialized support for pregnant and post-partum clients and their substance exposed newborns.
