Firstep Women’s Recovery Program
About Firstep Women’s Recovery Program
Firstep Women’s Recovery Program is a long-term residential recovery home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, offering a social model sober living community for adult women recovering from alcohol and drug addiction. The program does not include detox services, but they may offer referrals when needed.
Social Recovery Model
Firstep is not a traditional treatment center but a social model residential recovery community that connects residents with intensive outpatient services and licensed therapists as needed. The program includes individual and group counseling, relapse prevention, step-based classes, life skills training, parenting support and onsite GED classes.
The program operates on a structured work-recovery model with 12-step participation, supported by partnerships with licensed therapists and behavioral health providers. Residents stay a minimum of six months and can continue up to two years as they rebuild stability and life skills.
Inclusive Treatment
The program serves adult women age 18 and older recovering from substance use, including those with court involvement or voluntary self-referrals from attorneys, counselors, social workers, physicians, 12-step groups or Drug Court. Pregnant women and children are not accepted as residents, though visitation and passes are available by program phase.
Residents work full-time (up to 40 hours per week) at partner work training sites and earn minimum wage with 95 percent of earnings going toward program costs in exchange for housing, three meals daily, transportation, life skills support and counseling. Transportation to work and appointments is provided by the program.
