Montana Chemical Dependency Center
About Montana Chemical Dependency Center
Montana Chemical Dependency Center provides intensive inpatient residential treatment including medically supervised withdrawal for men and women with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health issues. This state-funded program is the first inpatient recovery facility operated by the state of Montana. They’re located in uptown Butte, east of Copper King Mansion and southwest of Berkeley Pit within Silver Bow County.
The facility includes a detox unit with 16 beds alongside separate inpatient rehab units for men and women. There’s a family visitation area, kitchens and cafeterias, and activity rooms. Each residential unit includes accessible indoor exercise equipment, along with outdoor basketball and volleyball courts and horseshoe pits. You’ll share a room with one peer and a bathroom with up to three others. The facility maintains a strict no tobacco product.
You must be over 18 with a primary substance use diagnosis or co-occurring conditions to be eligible. You must also be referred by a licensed addiction counselor to be accepted. They accept Medicaid and offer income-based sliding fee discounts for the uninsured.
Empowering Your Journey Toward Stability
Most patients here begin in the detox unit, where they receive expert support and medication to help them withdraw safely and comfortably from substances. Once you stabilize, the care team moves you to the inpatient rehab unit for therapy groups to build practical sober skills.
They also offer specialized relapse prevention programming to help you stay grounded and maintain sobriety in real-life situations. Recreational activities are incorporated into daily schedules to promote physical wellness, emotional balance, and social connections. Psychiatric medication evaluation and management or monitoring services are provided to support clients with co-occurring conditions.
The program includes random urinalysis testing to monitor progress. The program may last over four weeks. You may receive assistance with finding employment or stable housing.
