St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa offers addiction treatment through its Chemical Dependency program. They have served the community since 1992.

Services include medical detox, intensive outpatient treatment and early intervention programs for adults and young adults. The program is integrated within a full service hospital, allowing clients to access coordinated medical and behavioral health care under one roof.

What addiction treatment programs are available?

St. Luke’s provides comprehensive substance abuse evaluations, medically monitored detoxification when needed and an intensive outpatient program rooted in the 12 step philosophy of Alcoholics Anonymous.

The team also offers a five week early intervention program for individuals with mild substance use disorder and a six week education program for youth.

Aftercare groups led by alumni help clients stay connected and continue progress for six months following treatment.

Who can get help?

The program serves adults and young adults ages 18 and older, including individuals with cooccurring mental health and substance use disorders. St. Luke’s also works with DUI or DWI clients and individuals referred by the court or judicial system.

Do they accept insurance?

Yes, the program accepts Medicaid, Medicare, TRICARE and most private health insurance plans. Cash payment is also accepted and financial assistance is available for uninsured or underinsured individuals.
