About Tranquility Woods Addiction Treatment Center
Tranquility Woods’ Tranquility Treatment Center provides men and women with residential treatment in the woodlands of Pasadena, Maryland. The organization is CARF-accredited and LegitScript certified. I was very impressed that they were voted the #1 addiction center in Maryland in 2023 and 2024.
The stately center is located in a serene and comfortable setting on 40 acres of land. I like that they only accept 40 individuals at a time, to provide the best quality of individualized care. You must be 18 years of age or older struggling with alcohol or substance abuse to receive treatment. They accept most private health insurances, including Tricare East.
I like that you will have access to round the clock care while you address addiction and/or co-occurring issues. When you commence the program, you can average that you will be in treatment for at least 30 days. Men and women reside in different homes for enhanced privacy and space to process trauma that may be complex.
Your first step in the treatment program will be medical detox. Your care will be overseen by the medical director and nurse practitioners. I do like that weekly you will have a 30-minute massage to help accelerate detoxification.
They offer private and semi private rooms. Your meals will be cooked daily by an executive chef and a culinary staff. You’ll meet with your small groups for therapy sessions daily. The topics during the small groups will be focused on education and relapse prevention. You’ll also attend individual therapy three times per week.
Holistic therapies may be seen on your treatment plans. This form of therapy may include acupuncture, massage, fitness and yoga to heal your mind, body and soul. I like that you’ll have daily access to their onsite gym. What stood out to me is that they provide adventure therapy. This form of therapy will take place offsite, weekly. These outings are meant to normalize treatment. You will also be able to attend nature focused therapy that’s offered biweekly.
