About University of Vermont Medical Center DayOne Program

The University of Vermont Medical Center DayOne Program is an outpatient addiction treatment center in Burlington, Vermont offering comprehensive substance use disorder services for adults age 18 and above.

The program provides intensive outpatient treatment, Level II outpatient groups and Level I individual and group counseling for alcohol, opioid, cocaine and benzodiazepine dependency along with cooccurring mental health care.

Founded in 1971 as a division of the Psychiatry Service at UVM Medical Center, DayOne combines evidence based therapy, medication assisted treatment and integrated psychiatric services in an academic medical setting.

Treatment combines group psychotherapy, motivational enhancement, dialectical behavior therapy and rational emotive behavior therapy to address addiction and cooccurring disorders.

The innovative Suboxone Transition Program provides a five week bridge from higher levels of care to office based medication assisted treatment alongside naltrexone and Vivitrol options.

Individual, couples and family therapy are also available with onsite psychiatric evaluation and monitoring.
