About Volunteers of America Utah

Volunteers of America Utah is a substance use treatment provider in Salt Lake City that has operated a 75,000 square foot facility since it opened in 2023. The location houses the Men’s Detoxification Center and Cornerstone Counseling Center, offering residential detox and outpatient programs for adults struggling with addiction and co-occurring mental health conditions.

The center is in Salt Lake City near the Jordan River Parkway Trail and Redwood Recreation Center Park which is about three miles southwest of the Utah State Capitol. Volunteers of America Utah accepts Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance, TRICARE, and state or federal funding. Detox services are free for qualifying clients, with sliding fee scales and payment assistance available for others.

Residential Detox for Men

Volunteers of America Utah provides residential detoxification for adult men in a social model setting with stays up to 14 days. The Cornerstone Counseling Center offers regular outpatient treatment, intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization, and medication assisted treatment using methadone, buprenorphine, or naltrexone, along with individual, group, family, and couples counseling.

Volunteers of America Utah Programs

The Bearcat Drive facility primarily serves adult men age 18 and older  with a focus on homeless and low income individuals. The organization also operates a separate Center for Women and Children in Murray and serves young adults, veterans, LGBTQ+ clients, pregnant women, and court referred clients across its programs.
