UM Addiction Treatment Center
About UM Addiction Treatment Center
Located in the heart of Baltimore, Maryland, the University of Maryland Addiction Treatment Center offers comprehensive outpatient treatment services. The main program is an intensive outpatient program that includes medication assisted treatment for adults with substance use disorders.
At this facility, no appointments are needed. Intake hours are Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 10:00 am. This treatment center is also the location for Deaf Addiction Services of Maryland, providing state-wide services to Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals who need addiction treatment.
Medications For Stabilization
While UM does not have a detox-focused program, medication-assisted treatment is woven into the fabric of their treatment. The opioid addiction treatment program provides screenings and assessments, medications like methadone and suboxone, and overdose and relapse prevention plans.
This program is a city hub, meaning services are accessible, and local physicians and providers also use these resources. They also offer monthly Vivitrol and Sublocade injections.
Specialty Programs For Kids and Geriatric Populations
The University of Maryland has several specialty programs helping with addiction and mental health for many populations. For people aged 60 and over, clinicians can identify mental illness and cognitive decline, as well as prescribe medications.
The women’s health program cares for women before, during, and after their pregnancies. Secure Starts is a specialized program for kids aged zero through five who are at risk for experiencing social, emotional and behavioral challenges.
There are on-site screening and primary care services for people who are eligible. The treatment center is not far from various local attractions including Carroll Park and the Baltimore Orioles ballpark.
