About Chrysalis Therapeutic Boarding School
Chrysalis Therapeutic Boarding School is a residential treatment center in Eureka, Montana providing integrated clinical care and accredited academics for teen girls and LGBTQ+ youth.
The program addresses anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, substance use concerns and academic struggles through a combination of individual, family and group therapy alongside daily schooling on campus.
Chrysalis emphasizes family centered healing in a lakeside Montana setting designed to reduce distractions and support long term growth. Keep in ind that they don’t offer detox here direcly but they can refer you to a detox center that suits you.
Residential Treatment and Academics for Teen Girls
Chrysalis blends therapeutic boarding school structure with clinical treatment for teens who internalize emotional challenges.
Students receive weekly individual therapy, daily group therapy and trauma focused interventions including EMDR, Brainspotting, TF CBT and DBT all while attending small customized classes with built in executive functioning support.
Treatment targets root causes of anxiety, depression, and trauma while equipping students with practical coping skills and academic strategies. For substance use concerns, the program includes a weekly Recovery Group, community AA meetings, and Seeking Safety curriculum.
Sessions take place within a family-style living model where students share meals, complete chores, and build community routines that mirror healthy home life.
Family Involvement and Adventure Based Healing
Family participation is a core requirement at Chrysalis with weekly family therapy, twice yearly on campus workshops and experiential retreats.
The 40 acre lakeside campus near Glacier National Park enables year round adventure therapy, including hiking, skiing, rock climbing, paddleboarding and equine assisted activities designed to build confidence and connection.

Dual Diagnosis
Dual diagnosis programs address substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions simultaneously. This integrated approach to care improves the likelihood of long term recovery and stability by addressing the root causes of addiction.
Detox Service Setting

MAT
Medication assisted treatment combines medication and counseling to manage withdrawal and reduce cravings for opioid and alcohol addiction. Medications may include methadone, buprenorphine or naltrexone. MAT is tailored to your needs so you can actively participate in your treatment journey.

Cognitive behavioral therapy focuses on changing harmful thought patterns and behaviors associated with addiction. You’ll learn healthier coping mechanisms by identifying and replacing negative thoughts. This improves your emotional resilience and decreases your relapse potential.

Animal therapy uses interactions with animals such as dogs or horses as part of treatment. You’ll learn to develop trust, lower your anxiety levels and regulate your emotions. This provides comfort and a sense of companionship during the recovery journey.
