Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City – Crittenton Children’s Center is a pediatric behavioral health facility in Kansas City, Missouri, offering crisis stabilization and residential treatment in addition to outpatient services and adolescent substance use programming for teens ages 12 and older.
Youth in need of detox services will be referred to another location within the network.
Adolescent Substance Use Treatment with the Hazelden Matrix Model
Crittenton’s adolescent substance use program serves ages 12 to 20 using the evidence based Hazelden Matrix Model for Teens and Young Adults.
This structured approach includes up to 10 hours per week of individual, family, and group counseling combined with compliance testing, case management, and aftercare support groups to promote accountability and relapse prevention.
Sessions focus on adolescent substance education, recovery planning, and building healthy coping skills for long term sobriety. Treatment addresses the root causes of substance use while equipping teens and families with practical tools to support recovery at home and in the community.
Residential Care for Complex Trauma and High Risk Behaviors
The residential program offers intensive longer term care for adolescents ages 12 to 18 with persistent high risk behaviors or complex trauma histories.
With 24 hour nursing, on-site psychiatrists seven days a week, and on-site schooling through the Hickman Mills School District the program provides wraparound support including expressive therapy, spiritual wellness, and career counseling.
The specialized NTACT track addresses severe trauma, aggression, self harm, and failed prior placements with gender specific and neurobiologically informed care.
