About His Way
His Way is a long-term residential recovery program for men located in Huntsville, Alabama. It gives people seeking treatment a nine month, faith based program that puts a focus on spirituality but still uses many evidence based techniques to treat you.
The daily routine includes devotionals, counseling, group meetings, and classes that cover both recovery tools and life skills. Men are encouraged to find employment while in the program, giving them a chance to rebuild confidence and reestablish responsibility while staying supported.
Spiritually Rooted Addiction Recovery
This place is unapologetically Christ-centered, but also practical. I like that there’s a big emphasis on community. Residents, volunteers, and staff all work together, and that sense of brotherhood is something a lot of alumni say made a real difference in their recovery. The program isn’t just about staying sober, it’s about learning how to live a new kind of life.
I found that the facility sits on six acres and houses up to 50 men in dorm-style living. There’s an exercise room, a pavilion for outdoor hangouts, and a commercial kitchen that serves home-cooked meals. It’s not fancy, but it’s clean, solid, and intentional. Cost-wise, it’s one of the more affordable programs out there, costing you $800 for the first 60 days, then $250 a week, and they take some private insurance.
Community Connections
His Way is connected to the local community through places like The Saving Way, a nonprofit thrift store that supports the program. It’s also just a few miles from Huntsville’s Old Town Historic District, which adds a quiet, rooted backdrop to the recovery journey. This is a place for men who are ready to start over with purpose and support.
Levels of Care
-
Inpatient
Inpatient and residential programs provide round-the-clock medical and emotional support as you live at the treatment facility. This level of care may be recommended if you have severe addictions or mental health conditions since it removes outside distractions and allows you to focus solely on therapy.
-
Outpatient
In outpatient therapy, you’ll attend therapy sessions several times each week while living at home. This is ideal if you have a strong support system and a lower risk of relapse. Outpatient treatment offers flexibility to maintain work, school or family obligations.
Detox Service Setting
-
Inpatient Detox
Inpatient detox occurs in a dedicated treatment facility. You’ll live there around the clock and receive intensive medical support and supervision to help manage your withdrawal symptoms. It is suitable for individuals with moderate to severe addictions as it ensures a stable detox environment.
-
Outpatient Detox
Outpatient detox gives you access to medically supervised withdrawal services while still allowing you to live at home. You’ll attend a clinic for treatment and monitoring. This flexible option is suitable for those with mild to moderate withdrawal symptoms who have strong support systems.
Programs
-
Alcohol Detox
Alcohol detox programs offer medical support to help individuals withdraw safely from alcohol. Your care team may use medications to ease your symptoms and provide medical monitoring to address complications.
-
Drug Detox
Drug detox programs support individuals who are withdrawing from addictive substances like cocaine and heroin. Medical support helps you manage symptoms in a controlled and safe environment so you can achieve initial sobriety.
