About Marion County Behavioral Adult Health

The Marion County Adult Behavioral Health Services is a county-operated center in Oregon offering mental health support to adults over 18 navigating complex challenges. ABH offers a broad range of services from mental health assessments and personalized care planning to psychiatric medication management and therapeutic support that fosters emotional resilience. Clients also benefit from life skills training, peer support and case management services that provide help with job placement, education and housing.

ABH is part of Marion County Health and Human Services and is located on Silverton Road Northeast in Salem, just over a mile north of the Elsinore Theatre and Reed Opera House. This location also houses MCHHS’s Addiction Treatment Services, including medication assisted treatment and adult outpatient therapy, which you can access together via the integrated care model. The programs support court-involved individuals, including DUII offenders and those referred by the Oregon Department of Corrections or DHS Child Welfare.

Methadone and Suboxone Medication For Opioid Recovery

Medication assisted treatment is a proven technique that supports long-term abstinence by pairing FDA approved medications with counseling. MCHHS’ MAT program prescribes methadone or Suboxone as part of a personalized care plan developed through a detailed intake assessment. These medications ease painful withdrawal symptoms and reduce intense cravings, making it easier to stay engaged in recovery.

Counseling helps you address underlying psychological or emotional issues influencing your opioid dependence. You’ll build effective coping skills and strengthen your relapse prevention strategies to maintain long term success and abstinence.

Accessible Care Services

As a county-operated program, all services are offered at low cost, with coverage accepted through Medicaid and Medicare. Financial assistance may also be available for eligible clients. It’s worth reaching out to confirm available financial support if any. ATS maintains strong partnerships with and accepts referrals from criminal justice agencies, schools, psychiatric crisis centers and other behavioral health providers. This ensures individuals receive timely, coordinated care tailored to their specific needs and circumstances.
