About Community and Family Resources

Community & Family Resources – Iowa City Synchrony EAP is an employee assistance program (EAP) provider located in Iowa City, Iowa. This location used to be called Prelude Behavioral Services, before they merged with Community & Family Resources in July 2022.

They provide counseling for mental health, substance use, relational challenges or job-related challenges. They offer medication assisted treatment (MAT) as part of their substance use treatment program. This is available through their partnership with UCS Healthcare.

Accessible and Context-Driven Healthcare

Receiving treatment through an EAP is helpful because, depending on your coverage level, you may not need to cover the costs of treatment on your own. EAPs work with employers to provide confidential, easy-to-access care for people within the company.

Another great thing about using an EAP is that they look at the full context of your life when helping you through a mental or behavioral health issue. Your vocation contributes significantly to stress levels, emotional health, relational concerns and many other things that could influence substance use. The staff at Synchrony go out of their way to consider the demands and pressures of your job when speaking with you.

Detox Services and Referrals

Medically supervised detox is often the safest way to remove residue chemicals from your system. Detox staff monitor your condition constantly and use medication to prevent uncomfortable, dangerous withdrawal symptoms.

If you require detox before starting an outpatient program, intensive outpatient program, or MAT program, Synchrony EAP can easily connect you with experienced detox providers. CFR’s Detox services are available through referral to the Iowa City GuideLink Access Center, which is conveniently located down the road from the Synchrony center, or at CFR’s main campus in Fort Dodge.
