Detox Referrals and Programs

The center provides hospital inpatient treatment, a Partial Hospitalization Program Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 3:00pm, and an Intensive Outpatient Program meeting three evenings per week at Brookside and Lee’s Summit locations.

Telemedicine services are available for remote access to mental health care. The center does not provide detox services but can refer clients to a local facility that provides this treatment

Age and Group Specific Treatment

Research Psychiatric Center serves adolescents ages 12 to 18, adults ages 18 to 59, and seniors ages 60 and older with age specific treatment units. The STAR Unit offers specialized programming for military members, veterans, and active duty personnel.

The facility supports pregnant and postpartum women, LGBT clients, court referred individuals, and those with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.

Goal Centered Treatment Tracks

Treatment teams address mood disorders, thought disorders, addiction, trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, grief, and dual diagnosis concerns. The facility uses evidence-based therapies including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and a Treatment Mall concept that allows patients to choose goal focused therapy tracks.
