VA Pacific Islands Health Care System Kailua Kona CBOC

About VA Pacific Islands Health Care System Kailua Kona CBOC
The Kailua Kona VA Clinic is an outpatient clinic in Kailua Kona, Hawaii for veterans, military members and their families. This is part of the VA’s Pacific Islands healthcare network.
This clinic offers primary care services and some specialty services, including mental health and addiction treatment. This clinic does not offer inpatient detox, but they can refer you to an inpatient facility or get you set up with medication assisted treatment (MAT) for outpatient detox. Never attempt detoxing on your own, since the process can become serious or even life-threatening without proper monitoring.
The clinic is on the Big Island, easily accessible from Highway 19. The facility is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Accessing Holistic Care in Hawaii
The clinic is five miles from Historic Kailua Village and the Old Kona Airport Beach. The beach offers scenic views, interesting tide pools, and lots of outdoor recreation opportunities. There are many nearby areas where you can find some time to enjoy nature, reflect, and relax between appointments.
Like all VA clinics and hospitals, if you’re having a mental health or addiction issue, the clinicians will ensure you get the treatment you need. They offer outpatient and inpatient services, and they’ll refer you to the most convenient hospital if you need inpatient addiction treatment or help with detox.
Promoting the Health and Welfare of All Veterans
The treatment team is LGBTQ+ friendly and offers inclusive treatment. They promote the dignity, welfare, and health of everyone. If you identify as queer/questioning, transgender, gay, lesbian, or bisexual, you can be assured you’ll receive sensitive and affirming care.
Those in the LGBTQ+ community often deal with peer pressure and outside stressors that contribute to substance use, and the team offers the appropriate care that addresses these challenges to put you on the road to better health. Additionally, they offer testing for sexually transmitted diseases and HIV. From caregiver support to homeless veteran care and everything in between, you’ll find the care or referrals you need at this clinic.
