Vista Taos Drug & Alcohol Rehabilitation Center

About Vista Taos Drug & Alcohol Rehabilitation Center
Located in a quiet neighborhood in El Prado, New Mexico, far from the distractions and temptations of daily life, the Vista Taos Renewal Center offers various inpatient treatment programs for people with substance use disorders. It’s great that Vista Taos accepts many major in-network insurance providers and works with out-of-network insurance providers.
A Holistic Approach to Addiction Treatment
Vista Taos follows a holistic approach to treatment that is designed to support you mentally, physically, and spiritually through the recovery process. Their center features a mix of rustic and modern decor to immerse you in nature and put your mind at ease.
If you’re stuck in chemical dependency, you’ll likely start treatment at Vista Taos with medical detox. Substances will be flushed out of your system in a safe and controlled way, under round the clock medical supervision. You’ll be kept as comfortable as possible with meds as you go through the withdrawal process. Detox at Vista Taos typically lasts for one week, after which, you’ll be seamlessly transferred to the residential or intensive outpatient program.
Primary treatment for addiction at Vista Taos is open to both men and women and includes an introduction to 12 Step principles and meetings, individual and group therapy, relapse prevention education, grief and loss counseling, and mindfulness-based relapse prevention.
Holistic Activities to Support Recovery
You’ll have the opportunity to participate in an impressive variety of holistic activities to improve your emotional and spiritual well being. These include art therapy, educational lectures, discussions about spirituality, massage therapy, yoga, and meditation.

Having struggled with her mental health, Gemma has spent much of her writing career focused on topics surrounding behavioral health and stigmatized health issues, such as eating disorders, depression, obesity, and sexually transmitted diseases. It was a natural step to write about addiction, with her background in Biology and Research Science playing a key role in understanding chemical dependency as a disease. By writing about drug rehabilitation in an accessible and compassionate way, she hopes more people will feel encouraged to seek help.
