New Horizons of the Treasure Coast and Okeechobee provide accessible substance use recovery and mental health support to communities across southeast Florida’s Treasure Coast. They operate nine facilities across four counties serving 14,000+ adults and children annually. Their main campus is situated four miles west of downtown Fort Pierce within St. Lucie County.

Specialized Addiction Treatment in Fort Pierce

They offer outpatient and inpatient mental health care as well as crisis support and operate a learning center for independent life skills development. They also offer substance use detox and case management, transitional group home and family support services alongside school-based programs. They promote resilience, recovery and improved health via community outreach and education.

They offer priority treatment to individuals struggling with substance use disorders, pregnant women who use drugs intravenously, and people in the child welfare system struggling with substance use.

Substance Use Detoxification and Case Management

New Horizons operates a 15-bed structured and therapeutic detox unit on this main campus where adults experiencing acute substance use symptoms can detox under the supervision of trained physicians.

Patients are provided FDA-approved medication to help manage withdrawal. They also receive medical and psychosocial support to help geared toward lasting abstinence. You may continue your recovery journey via their psychosocial social rehab to build independent living skills for lasting healing.

The program offers linkages to community services to help you address needs like supportive housing, education and employment.

Crisis Support and Stabilization

New Horizon offers mobile crisis responses to promote safety within a community setting leveraging their team of experienced mobile response teams. These experts travel throughout the Treasure Coast to provide assessment and therapeutic support to individuals in crisis.

The facility also boasts a 30-bed stabilization unit where adults experiencing acute mental health or substance use symptoms are stabilized and connected to the appropriate level of care. A specialized children’s stabilization unit is also available.

Recovery Support for Adolescents and Children

New Horizon offers outpatient mental and substance use recovery for children across their four county locations, including on this main campus. The program includes linkages to community services that support lasting healing via case management. They also offer crisis intervention in a structured 20-bed facility for children aged 6 to 17 seeking crisis support.
