About Alaska Addiction Rehabilitation Services

Alaska Addiction Rehabilitation Services, Inc. (AARS), located in Wasilla, Alaska, has been supporting individuals with substance use disorders and dual diagnosis for over forty years. The residential and outpatient facility is a unique combination of 12 step recovery, counseling, life skills and a chance to learn about farming in the rural and peaceful environment.

The counselors and staff members strive to treat the whole person, focusing on the physical, emotional and spiritual facets of addiction.

Nugen’s Rance

The AARS treatment facility is also named Nugen’s Ranch, which provides residents with a work therapy opportunity. There are flowers in the greenhouse, vegetable fields and hay production that all work to provide fresh and organic produce to the community. A big part of the ranch is how it cultivates healthy coping skills and a sense of self worth for residents during treatment.

AARS Services

In addition to the residential treatment program, there are many other services residents have access to that support their entire wellbeing. AARS helps with nutrition planning, so each individual has any dietary needs addressed.

Visits from family and friends are encouraged to support residents during their recovery process and strengthen interpersonal relationships. There is also a licensed nurse available during the week to address any health concerns and medications are managed by the AARS medical team.
