About Destiny Sober Living
Destiny Sober Living is a treatment center in Phoenix, Arizona. They provide residential and outpatient addiction and dual diagnoses treatment for adults. While they don’t offer detox, they can recommend trusted hospitals so you can reach stabilization before transitioning to another level of care.
Block Grant Funding
As an Arizona Substance Abuse Block Grant provider, they offer services to uninsured priority populations. You must be a pregnant woman who injects drugs or uses substances, an individual who injects substances or a mother battling addiction with dependent children to qualify.
Tailored Care for Members of Native Communities
For me, Destiny Sober Living’s specialized programs for Native Americans really stood out. You can access targeted approaches, incorporating Native American traditions and values.
Their trained, culturally aware counselors and spiritual advisors provide weekly sweat lodge sessions, traditional songs and prayers, spiritual advising and talking circles. They even offer assessments to ensure your cultural needs and preferences for activities, food and family are met.
Gender Specific Care
Another standout feature I noticed was their gender specific programs. The organization understands that each gender thinks differently and has unique experiences that can influence addiction.
The women’s program focuses on topics such as sexual trauma, parenting concerns and grief and loss. You can also access treatment for perinatal mood disorders. Their men’s programs address challenges, like developing identity outside of employment, shame, anger, violence and fatherhood.
DUI Treatment
Their DUI services also caught my eye. If you’re facing a DUI charge, you can meet legal requirements while getting to the root causes of addiction. Destiny Sober Living provides assessments and treatment to help you understand the extent of your substance use as well as recognize and change your behaviors for lasting recovery.
Levels of Care
-
Inpatient
Inpatient and residential programs provide round-the-clock medical and emotional support as you live at the treatment facility. This level of care may be recommended if you have severe addictions or mental health conditions since it removes outside distractions and allows you to focus solely on therapy.
-
Outpatient
In outpatient therapy, you’ll attend therapy sessions several times each week while living at home. This is ideal if you have a strong support system and a lower risk of relapse. Outpatient treatment offers flexibility to maintain work, school or family obligations.
Detox Service Setting
-
Inpatient Detox
Inpatient detox occurs in a dedicated treatment facility. You’ll live there around the clock and receive intensive medical support and supervision to help manage your withdrawal symptoms. It is suitable for individuals with moderate to severe addictions as it ensures a stable detox environment.
-
Outpatient Detox
Outpatient detox gives you access to medically supervised withdrawal services while still allowing you to live at home. You’ll attend a clinic for treatment and monitoring. This flexible option is suitable for those with mild to moderate withdrawal symptoms who have strong support systems.
Programs
-
Alcohol Detox
Alcohol detox programs offer medical support to help individuals withdraw safely from alcohol. Your care team may use medications to ease your symptoms and provide medical monitoring to address complications.
-
Drug Detox
Drug detox programs support individuals who are withdrawing from addictive substances like cocaine and heroin. Medical support helps you manage symptoms in a controlled and safe environment so you can achieve initial sobriety.
