The South King County Clinic of Evergreen Treatment Services provides outpatient opioid use disorder treatment in Renton, Washington. If you find parks and greenspaces relaxing, they’re near Springbrook Creek and the Greenbelt. Adult men and women are able to receive treatment six days per week. They do accept most forms of health insurance including Medicaid.
They use a comprehensive approach to their treatment services. You will receive medication assisted treatment (MAT) combined with regular visits with a medical provider and counseling. I do like that they conduct random drug testing at least once a month. Their dispensary staff can request a urine sample at any time.
Upon your arrival for treatment, you’ll always stop to check in at the reception area and provide them with your patient number. Once you have completed your check in, you’ll be able to get in line for your meds.
With their MAT services, you may be prescribed methadone or buprenorphine. These medications have both been approved by the FDA to ease the physical symptoms of withdrawals and reduce cravings. You’ll go to the clinic on a daily basis to receive your medication from the dispensary nurse. I like that as you progress, you’ll be able to earn take home privileges, with medications being provided for a week or up to a month.
What stood out to me is that they do provide courtesy dosing to anyone traveling in the area who’s currently enrolled in a MAT program. There are a few requirements so that you can schedule a dosing appointment. Your home clinic will need to fax them a release of information form and confirm it was received. They must have this form at least 72 hours before your scheduled dose appointment. The total amount fees will be due at your first appointment, and there are no refunds.
Their outreach program further shows how they’re integrated into the community. They provide hot meals, clothing, and other basic necessities. They’ll also offer assessments and encourage those with substance use disorders to seek help.
