About Lincoln Trail Behavioral Health System
Serving patients from across the country, the Adult Chemical Dependency Inpatient Program at Lincoln Trail Behavioral Health System is a highly structured program for adults over the age of 18 with the need for supervised detoxification or recovery. The philosophy of this program centers on the Living in Balance model — focused on relapse prevention while providing numerous opportunities for daily living improvement through extensive group sessions. Living in Balance helps patients to discover areas of life they have neglected through addiction and gives them the resources to live a sober life.
In addition to Living in Balance, patients attend Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) while in treatment. They receive a copy of the AA Big Book and begin to work the 12 steps. 12-step education is provided in groups and individually patients work on each step.
Lincoln Trail Behavioral Health System also provides patients with a Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) for addiction. The patients develop a plan to use their wellness tools on a daily basis to manage their sobriety and mental health. WRAP aids in discharge planning by giving patients a detailed discharge plan they have created to aid both in their sobriety and to help keep slips from turning into relapses.
The multidisciplinary treatment team is led by an addictionologist or psychiatrist, a certified alcohol and drug counselor, case coordinator, social worker, nurse and activity therapist. The treatment is individualized and guided by a tailored treatment plan that addresses each patient’s specific needs.
