About McLean Hospital: Fernside

Known for its scenic beauty and outdoor recreational activities, Princeton, Massachusetts is home to McLean Fernside. This private, upscale residential treatment center has provided personalized care for adults battling addiction and dual diagnosis since 2006.

Detox isn’t available onsite but they work with you to arrange withdrawal management services before starting care. Their program only accepts self pay.

A Stunning Campus

What stands out most to me is their impressive facility. It’s situated on 15 secluded acres of lawns, gardens, and woodlands so you can enjoy a serene environment with views of Wachusett Mountain and Boston.

Their nine bed treatment center is a charming renovated 19th century mansion. You can access luxurious accommodations and amenities including a private room with an ensuite bathroom, an art studio and a gym.

Alumni Program

Another great feature I noticed was their alumni track. After completing their program you can access up to two years of ongoing virtual and phone support.

They also provide monthly meetings with their team members and other alumni as well as biannual national and local alumni events. Their alumni coordinators are also always available for individual consultations. You’ll benefit from continuous support to stay on track in recovery.

Holistic Practices and Expressive Therapies

Their expressive therapies and holistic practices also stood out to me. You can participate in art therapy, yoga, acupuncture, massage therapy, nutritional consultations, and more.

These activities can help you explore new self care methods while gaining essential skills to support your journey. Their prime location also provides access to hiking trails, skiing, tennis, and swimming.
