About New Vision – Research Medical Center

New Vision at Research Medical Center is a hospital-based addiction treatment program in Kansas City, Missouri.  This inpatient program provides safe stabilization for individuals withdrawing from alcohol, opioids, and other substances. The program uses a medical model to prepare clients for ongoing recovery.

Medically Supervised Detox

Adults enter the program through admission to a secure unit within Research Medical Center, where they receive continuous medical monitoring and individualized assessment. The inpatient withdrawal management program is designed to stabilize patients safely during acute detox, using medications when appropriate to reduce cravings and manage symptoms.

Structured Hospital Setting

Throughout their stay, patients can benefit from a structured hospital environment with around-the-clock care and support. New Vision emphasizes discharge planning and referrals, connecting clients to inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient programs and community resources to ensure continuity of care after stabilization.

Guests remain comfortable and safe while focusing on recovery without the outside distractions that could otherwise hinder treatment progress. Aftercare services support sustained sobriety and may involve referrals to sober housing, continued counseling sessions, support group meetings and sober events.

Levels of Care

  • Inpatient

This level of care may be recommended if you have severe addictions or mental health conditions since it removes outside distractions and allows you to focus solely on therapy.

  • Outpatient

In outpatient therapy, you’ll attend therapy sessions several times each week while living at home. This is ideal if you have a strong support system and a lower risk of relapse. Outpatient treatment offers flexibility to maintain work, school or family obligations.

  • Dual Diagnosis

Dual diagnosis programs address substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions simultaneously. This integrated approach to care improves the likelihood of long term recovery and stability by addressing the root causes of addiction.

  • Aftercare

Aftercare programs provide ongoing support after you complete a rehab program. They may include several components to help you maintain sobriety including therapy, community support groups and relapse prevention strategies. This gives you a network of resources as you reintegrate into your daily life.

Detox Service Setting

Hospital detoxification allows you to withdraw from drugs or alcohol in a hospital setting. It’s ideal for people with severe withdrawal symptoms or complex medical needs. You’ll receive constant monitoring, emergency care if needed and FDA approved prescription medications.

  • Inpatient Detox

Inpatient detox occurs in a dedicated treatment facility. You’ll live there around the clock and receive intensive medical support and supervision to help manage your withdrawal symptoms. It is suitable for individuals with moderate to severe addictions as it ensures a stable detox environment.

  • Outpatient Detox

Outpatient detox gives you access to medically supervised withdrawal services while still allowing you to live at home. You’ll attend a clinic for treatment and monitoring. This flexible option is suitable for those with mild to moderate withdrawal symptoms who have strong support systems.

  • MAT

Medication assisted treatment combines medication and counseling to manage withdrawal and reduce cravings for opioid and alcohol addiction. Medications may include methadone, buprenorphine or naltrexone. MAT is tailored to your needs so you can actively participate in your treatment journey.
