Based in Sedro-Woolley, Washington, Pioneer Human Services is a now-defunct social services organization and addiction treatment provider. It used to serve adults struggling with substance abuse and mental health issues, including court-referred clients. It operated from 1978 to 2022.
Though much of its treatment was funded through government programs, Medicaid and self-pay with sliding scale options were accepted to cover those that weren’t.
A Drug Detox Center & Residential Drug Rehab
Detox programs were once available here to help clients sober up from addictive substances like opioids, alcohol, cocaine, and methamphetamines. This took place within a safe and supportive environment to ensure clients were made as comfortable as possible during this tricky time.
Many who underwent detox would continue on the facility’s residential program for either short or long-term support. Specialized accessible services were also available to individuals who were deaf or hard of hearing.
Addiction Treatment Methods Used
Medication assisted treatment (MAT) was used as part of the detox process and as continuing care on the residential program. Medications used included FDA-approved buprenorphine, oral and injectable naltrexone, and disulfiram, all to help clients manage cravings and withdrawal symptoms.
MAT was offered alongside trauma-related counseling, anger management, motivational interviewing (MI), relapse prevention planning and other therapeutic methods. Educational services were also provided to help clients shape their post-recovery lifestyles, teaching them about health and wellbeing, and nutrition.
Designated smoking areas were also available on site. It was set in a woodsy area near the Northern State Recreation Area. However, there are other Pioneer locations in Washington that can assist you.
