About Recovery U

Based in Charleston, West Virginia, Recovery U was a curriculum-based drug rehab that supports transitioning men with substance abuse and other concurrent issues on a long-term basis.

A Safe & Sober Environment for Men in West Virginia’s Capital

While this center didn’t specifically provide detox services, it supported individuals by way of referrals to relevant local service providers.

The staff understood addiction recovery as an ongoing lifelong process, with treatment consisting of ongoing individual and group therapy sessions. The team was all about meeting you throughout your recovery journey to assist with the best methods for any unique situation.

How It Works

All residents were provided with a primary care physician as well as a psychiatric registered nurse practitioner to support a holistic approach to care. The treatment program itself took place over 6-12 months. The goal was to support participants as they transitioned gradually back into their independence and community.

Clients might have received RSAT/Therapeutic principles to promote long-term success in a supportive college campus-style environment to grow within an atmosphere of teamwork and peer support.

Even though the center is closed, there are some places nearby that can assist.
