About Stepworks of London, KY
Stepworks of London is in the countryside of London, Kentucky on Marydell Road. The London facility is for men only. They offer treatment for substance use disorder and co-occurring disorders. They have detox in the residential program but they also offer a short-stay detox for withdrawal management if your substance use isn’t severe and you don’t need the full residential treatment program.
The center accepts insurance but only from a few companies. These include Anthem, Cigna, Aetna, CareSource, Passport Health Plan, WellCare, Optum and Humana. They take Medicaid if the plan is through one of the above providers. They also take Medicare but only if it’s through one of the listed companies and you have a diagnosis of opium dependency.
When you enter the 30-day detox and residential program, you’ll spend some time initially detoxing. The program provides medical detox which means you’ll be overseen by a team of licensed medical professionals. The detox protocols include medication if necessary. They do not use methadone at this center. They do use buprenorphine/naloxone.
You’ll be assessed regularly and when you’re ready to start the daily programming, you’ll move to the next treatment level. This will include daily clinical, educational, and skills groups. You’ll learn how to form new habits and engage in substance-free leisure activities. You’ll work on getting to the underlying issues driving your substance use.
If you only want detox but not residential treatment, they have a short-stay detox program. Your treatment varies depending on the type of substance and how long you’ve been using it. If you’re detoxing from opiates, a typical stay is 11 to 13 days. Detoxing from benzodiazepines or alcohol takes about three to seven days. Your treatment is individualized and may vary from the average based on the severity of your use.
