Teen Challenge Cape Girardeau
About Teen Challenge Cape Girardeau
Teen Challenge Cape Girardeau is a residential addiction treatment center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. The program provides faith based recovery services for men facing substance use and other life controlling challenges. The program follows a 12 month Christian discipleship model and combines spiritual development with vocational training, educational support and pastoral counseling.
Services are designed to help participants rebuild stability, confidence, and a sense of purpose. Many former residents and family members highlight the dedication of staff and the positive impact of the program on long term personal growth.
Residential 12 Month Men’s Recovery Program
Teen Challenge offers a 12 month residential recovery program for men age 18 years and older. The program begins with a four to six month induction phase at a partner location. Participants then transition to a training phase at the Cape Girardeau center, which lasts up to 10 months.
Graduates may also participate in the Bridging Hope Transition House. This program supports individuals as they return to work, strengthen life skills, and reintegrate into the community.
While they don’t offer medication assisted treatment or detox at this location, they can help you to find these services before your admission.
Services for Adult Men Working to Overcome Addiction
The program serves adult men who are working to overcome drug, alcohol, and other addictive behaviors. Teen Challenge accepts individuals who are on probation or parole, those who take prescribed psychotropic medications, and individuals who use wheelchairs.
In some cases, the program may serve as an alternative to incarceration for individuals involved in the court system who are approved for treatment based rehabilitation.
Participants engage in Christian discipleship classes, group Bible studies, individual mentoring and pastoral counseling. Daily activities also include structured work projects that help develop practical job skills through the organization’s thrift stores and other community based enterprises.
Educational Services Support Academic Growth
Educational services are available for participants who wish to complete their HiSET diploma, previously known as the GED. These opportunities support academic growth alongside spiritual and personal development.
Teen Challenge does not accept insurance. The organization operates as a non profit ministry supported by private donors and community partners. This funding model helps keep program costs as low as possible. Private pay options are available for participants who are able to contribute to program expenses.
