The Recovery Center in Athens

About The Recovery Center in Athens
Athens Recovery in Georgia offers outpatient treatment for substance use and co-occurring disorders. They offer a full continuum of outpatient care from detox to continuing aftercare.
Clients can receive outpatient medically managed detoxification services to help treat their substance use disorder. An initial assessment will establish if you have any co-occurring mental health disorders. A treatment plan is created and medication is prescribed.
You will have an appointment every day during detox so that the staff can assess your medical condition, the intensity of your withdrawals and the effectiveness of medications that have been prescribed. If your withdrawal symptoms are too severe for outpatient, you will be referred to an inpatient detox facility
Outpatient Substance Use Therapy in Athens
After you have been stabilized through detox, you can start undergoing addiction counseling and therapy. Partial hospitalization programs are recommended after detox.
When you’re in the beginning stages of recovery you need as much support as possible. The program meets several hours per day for five or six days per week.
Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) meet three hours in the morning or three hours in the evening. You have the choice of day or evening treatment based on what is convenient for you. You will attend IOP three to five days per week.
Gender Specific Therapy Groups
Women’s rehab focuses on issues women commonly face. Women are oftentimes caregivers of children or aging parents. There are also a high number of women who have faced trauma.
Group therapy will give you the opportunity to have discussions with other women who have faced similar issues. Trauma therapy will help you address past circumstances and strengthen your recovery foundations. Men’s rehab focuses on issues that affect men.
Men feel like they need to be strong and self reliant instead of admitting a weakness like addiction. Group therapy and trauma therapy will provide the support and closure you need to begin recovery. The facility is located just off of US-441 not far from The State Botanical Garden of Georgia.
