About Chicago Treatment and Counseling Center
Chicago Treatment and Counseling Centers, Inc., is a private, CARF accredited addiction and mental health treatment organization in Chicago, Illinois. They have four Chicago locations including this facility on Broadway Avenue that’s accessible by public transportation. These are outpatient treatment facilities. The organization accepts many private insurance plans, as well as Medicaid.
The treatment team provides counseling, education, methadone maintenance, Suboxone treatment, and a DUI program. They offer medication assisted treatment (MAT) with methadone and Suboxone, which can help individuals detox from or reduce their dependence on opioids.
Focusing on Harm Reduction and Evidence Based Treatments
The treatment team focuses on evidence based treatment modalities as well as harm reduction. Harm reduction is a compassionate and nonjudgmental treatment approach that seeks to minimize the negative consequences of substance use for those who aren’t quite ready to stop their destructive behaviors.
The team accepts referrals from the probation/parole and criminal justice systems and welcomes court mandated clients.
Compassionate and Nonjudgmental Addiction Treatment
I noticed in the reviews that many clients remarked on the nonjudgmental, professional, and compassionate staff. Others mentioned that the staff’s support was instrumental in their ability to regain a sober lifestyle and personal stability.
Some clients offered positive comments about the extended treatment hours. They also liked the accessibility of services and the structured programs.
Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Programs
The methadone maintenance program is for adults 18 and over and requires clients to attend monthly counseling. One of the unique features of the program is its open door policy. The policy includes having clinicians available at all times to meet clients’ varied needs.
In the Suboxone program, clients are strictly monitored by a doctor. However, clients can take the medication in their own homes and finish the program in the outpatient setting. This allows clients to recover in the privacy and comfort of their own homes.
