About Edgefield Recovery Center
Edgefield Recovery Center, located in Cheneyville, Louisiana, provides medical detox and residential alcohol and drug rehab services to adults. The residential treatment program includes a wide range of specialty programs, such as dual diagnosis, first-time treatment, gender-specific groups, intensive relapse prevention, and compulsive gambling.
Clients in medical detox are monitored around the clock by medical professionals to ensure detox is safe and as comfortable as possible. The doctors and nurses can provide medication and other treatments to manage physical withdrawal symptoms, and clients receive counseling and treatment planning to address the mental and emotional aspects of detox. In the end, they are clean and ready to move to the next step of treatment.
Many clients will be referred to the residential program at Edgefield, which provides individual and group therapy, medication management, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), addiction education, and relapse prevention. Some clients may instead be referred to outpatient rehab if they are more medically stable and need to work or attend school during treatment.
