Harvest House Apartments is a supervised residential housing facility operated by Mental Health Centers of Western Illinois, serving adults with mental illness in Mount Sterling. This community provides 24 hour on site support to help residents build independent living skills and work toward greater self sufficiency.
As part of MHCWI’s comprehensive behavioral health system, Harvest House Apartments offers a safe, structured setting for adults in recovery who need supportive housing to stabilize and thrive. They don’t have detox here but they can help you connect with detox care if necessary.
Supportive Housing for Adults
Harvest House Apartments provides around the clock staff support in individual apartment units designed for adults working toward independence. On site staff help residents develop practical skills in self care, housekeeping and cooking, grocery shopping and social engagement tailored to each person’s goals and recovery stage.
The program emphasizes skill building that prepares residents for community living. Tenants are encouraged to pursue employment and work toward milestones like obtaining a driver’s license, with staff providing guidance and accountability. This structured yet individualized approach targets both day to day functioning and long term self reliance.
Integrated Behavioral Health
Harvest House Apartments is part of Mental Health Centers of Western Illinois, a private nonprofit community mental health center serving Hancock, McDonough and Schuyler, Warren and surrounding counties. MHCWI offers a full continuum of mental health and substance use services, including outpatient counseling and case management, crisis intervention and psychiatric medication management.

Levels of Care

Inpatient
Inpatient and residential programs provide round-the-clock medical and emotional support as you live at the treatment facility. This level of care may be recommended if you have severe addictions or mental health conditions since it removes outside distractions and allows you to focus solely on therapy.

Dual diagnosis programs address substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions simultaneously. This integrated approach to care improves the likelihood of long term recovery and stability by addressing the root causes of addiction.

Hospital Detox
Hospital detoxification allows you to withdraw from drugs or alcohol in a hospital setting. It’s ideal for people with severe withdrawal symptoms or complex medical needs. You’ll receive constant monitoring, emergency care if needed and FDA approved prescription medications.

Inpatient Detox
Inpatient detox occurs in a dedicated treatment facility. You’ll live there around the clock and receive intensive medical support and supervision to help manage your withdrawal symptoms. It is suitable for individuals with moderate to severe addictions as it ensures a stable detox environment.
