About Palmetto Addiction Recovery Center Shreveport

If you’re out and about in Shreveport in Louisiana, feel free to drop by the Palmetto Addiction Recovery network. They’re standing by with outpatient care for folks who need assistance with substance misuse. They’re pretty close to Highland Park.

Signing Up for IOP

In the intensive outpatient program, clients will attend individual and group counseling sessions, where they will learn about addiction as a disease to better understand the impact their substance use has on themselves and others. They’ll also learn how to recognize and manage stressors and how to use the twelve step model to beat their addiction and maintain sobriety. If necessary, clients may be prescribed medications that will disrupt the addiction cycle by curbing cravings and minimizing lingering withdrawal symptoms.

Detox at Other Locations

In cases of severe chemical dependency, you may be referred to the medical detox program at the Palmetto Addiction Recovery Center in Rayville, where clients can be weaned off substances in a safe and controlled way. In a comfortable and supportive environment, clients receive medications that ease cravings and withdrawal symptoms. Once clients are both physically and psychologically stabilized, they can transition into Palmetto’s residential or intensive outpatient programs to continue their road to recovery.

It’s good to note that Palmetto works with many major insurance companies to ensure that their treatment programs are not cost-prohibitive for clients.

BSc

Having struggled with her mental health, Gemma has spent much of her writing career focused on topics surrounding behavioral health and stigmatized health issues, such as eating disorders, depression, obesity, and sexually transmitted diseases. It was a natural step to write about addiction, with her background in Biology and Research Science playing a key role in understanding chemical dependency as a disease. By writing about drug rehabilitation in an accessible and compassionate way, she hopes more people will feel encouraged to seek help.
