The Salvation Army Northwest Indiana Adult Rehabilitation Center and Administrative Offices
About The Salvation Army Northwest Indiana Adult Rehabilitation Center and Administrative Offices
The Salvation Army is a worldwide organization offering services on five continents and in over 130 countries. The organization offers supportive services and addiction treatment programs for individuals with substance use and mental health issues. They provide their services free of charge to adult men and women, ages 21-65.
One of the organization’s treatment facilities is in Gary, Indiana, along with their administrative offices. The programs do not have a detox component, but they can refer you to a detox facility for detox before you enter the Salvation Army program. Please don’t attempt to detox on your own, since it can be dangerous or even fatal.
Incorporating Work Therapy With Recovery
One of the unique components of the adult rehabilitation center is the work. Clients participate in a 180 day residential program. The program provides work therapy, as well as services to promote emotional, physical and spiritual growth and well being for those who engage.
Before beginning the program, you’ll have to pass a drug test and then a breathalyzer when you get to the work location. You’ll need to be able to work for a maximum of eight hours per day, though schedules are often adjusted to meet individual needs.
Individuals also agree to engage with all the program activities. These include counseling sessions, classes, activities, and worship services since this is a faith based program.
Healing in Gary, Indiana
The facility is conveniently located just off of interstate 90 on west 11th avenue. Finding new activities to do is an important part of maintaining your sobriety. Some places you can enjoy visiting in between your treatment sessions include the Gary Aquatorium and the Michael Jackson Family Home.
