Established in 1822, they’re one of the oldest mental health centers nationwide. You can access a multidisciplinary approach, merging psychiatric, therapeutic and medical expertise for integrated support.
Comprehensive Addiction Treatment Services
You’ll have access to intensive or traditional outpatient care to reach your recovery goals. You can receive individual and group therapy, as well as medication management and relapse prevention training.
You can also participate in specialized group sessions focused on mindfulness, overcoming trauma, coping skills and more. Aftercare planning is provided to support you in achieving a sustainable recovery.
A Historic Center For Behavioral Health Support
What stands out most to me is their beautiful environment. Their historic campus features beautifully landscaped and manicured grounds, making for an overall peaceful and aesthetically pleasing recovery atmosphere.
As part of these grounds, you’ll find various therapeutic gardens and walking paths. As for its facilities, you can benefit from fitness and recreational spaces, as well as dedicated art therapy rooms.
Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) in Hartford, Connecticut
Another beneficial feature I noticed was that they offer MAT for opioid and alcohol use disorders. This approach combines FDA approved medications with behavioral interventions to help you reach recovery.
Medications like buprenorphine and naltrexone can ease cravings and withdrawal symptoms. They complement care with group and individual therapy to help you understand and change the underlying factors of addiction.
