Aware Recovery Care
About Aware Recovery Care
Aware Recovery Care is an innovative in home addiction treatment program serving North Haven, Connecticut and communities throughout the state. Rather than requiring clients to enter a residential facility, the program delivers intensive outpatient care, medically managed detox, and medication assisted treatment directly in clients’ homes over a comprehensive 52 week curriculum.
Developed in collaboration with Yale addiction specialists, Aware Recovery Care uses evidence based and trauma informed approaches that allow adults to heal while maintaining work, school and family responsibilities.
In Home Addiction Treatment
Treatment typically begins with an assessment to determine the appropriate level of care, which may include detox services for clients who need medically supervised withdrawal support. Daily one hour visits from a multidisciplinary care team bring the full continuum of addiction treatment into the home, combining in person and virtual sessions over the course of a year.
Clients receive individual therapy and group support, family counseling and psychiatric care using modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy and motivational interviewing.
The program also offers medication assisted treatment with FDA approved medications for opioid and alcohol use disorders, peer recovery coaching and ongoing aftercare planning to build long term recovery skills.
