About Farrell Treatment Center

Farrell Treatment Center is a substance use treatment provider in New Britain, Connecticut offering intensive residential care, intensive outpatient programming and outpatient counseling in one connected continuum. The team provides ASAM level inpatient services, IOP that meets three days a week and individual and group therapy tailored to your schedule. While the center doesn’t offer detox on site, they can help you get connected to detox programs in the area.

What kinds of programs are offered?

Farrell provides intensive residential treatment at ASAM levels 3.5 and 3.7 with 24 hour staffing, an intensive outpatient program meeting three days a week for three hours and outpatient therapy ranging from one to three hours weekly.

All levels include psychiatric evaluations and medication management, case management and group work on topics like trauma and relapse prevention, anger management and stress reduction.

Who can get help here?

The residential inpatient program serves men with substance use disorders, and the IOP and outpatient services welcome both men and women. Farrell accepts self referrals and referrals from detox centers or hospitals and offers specialized gender based groups within the IOP track.

What is the setting like?

The New Britain location at 586 Main Street is housed in the historic 100 year old St. Mary’s convent, creating a home like environment with furnished bedrooms, newly renovated communal bathrooms and a basement cafeteria serving three home cooked meals daily. Residents have access to a recreation room stocked with books, crafts, games and a guitar plus an exercise room and outdoor basketball court.

Does Farrell take insurance?

The residential program is currently open only to Medicaid insured clients. IOP and outpatient services accept various insurance plans and DMHAS grant funding is available to help cover costs for uninsured or underinsured individuals.
