About Bayshore Retreat

Bayshore Retreat is an intimate residential addiction treatment center in Destin, Florida with a maximum capacity of six clients at a time on Choctawhatchee Bay. Founded in 2010 by a mother and son team with personal experience in addiction, the center offers evidence based therapies including CBT, DBT, EMDR, and motivational interviewing to treat drug and alcohol addiction in adults.

Medical Detox and Therapies

Bayshore Retreat specializes in short term and long term residential programs ranging from 30 to 90 days with medical detox services for alcohol, benzodiazepines, opioids, fentanyl, and other substances. Clients receive individual therapy at least twice weekly plus daily group therapy sessions, totaling approximately 30 hours of counseling each week.

Treatment consists of evidence based modalities paired with holistic approaches like yoga, meditation, art therapy, acupuncture, and infrared sauna therapy. Sessions focus on uncovering underlying issues, building coping skills, and creating sustainable relapse prevention plans.

Dual Diagnosis and Trauma Informed Care

Bayshore offers dual diagnosis treatment for co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders with specialized trauma care including EMDR therapy. The center serves military members, veterans, LGBTQIA+ clients, domestic violence survivors, and those with trauma histories.

Treatment on the Choctawhatchee Bay

Bayshore Retreat serves clients at its waterfront facility with the unique option for clients to maintain remote work responsibilities and family connections during their stay. They are accredited by the Joint Commission and LegitScript.
