About Cocaine and Alcohol Awareness Program (CAAP)

The Cocaine and Alcohol Awareness Program (CAAP) was established in 1958 to deliver accessible substance use treatment for underserved minorities. They support over 1000 clients annually by helping them navigate various self-defeating behaviors that include co-occurring mental health issues to homelessness and domestic violence.

Priority may be given to handicapped adults, those with illnesses and individuals facing psychosocial challenges. CAAP offers tailored residential care for six months that involves structured therapy and educational sessions. This program incorporates recovery support services like vocational training, job placement and GED prep.

They also assist with transitional housing for homeless veterans or those at risk of homelessness or co-occurring conditions. High-quality court education and treatment services are available for DUI offenders as well.

Medication Supported Recovery for Opioid Addiction

CAAP provides medication assisted treatment (MAT) via Tennessee State Opioid Response for adults. MAT pairs counseling with FDA-approved medication to ease withdrawal symptoms. This is followed by tailored therapeutic support to build a practical life that encourages sobriety and prevents relapse.

The program includes psychiatric support to tackle co-occurring mental disorders. Clients benefit from 24/7 recovery support. The wraparound services include transportation support, employment assistance and transitional services via case management. You can connect with their Recovery Pathfinders to assess your eligibility for this program.

These trained experts advocate for MAT and harm reduction services. They also offer prevention support, educate the community and raise awareness about treatment accessibility for uninsured opioid dependent individuals.
