About Coconut Grove Community Resource Center

Coconut Grove Community Resource Center is an outpatient substance abuse treatment program in Miami, Florida operated by Miami Dade County Community Action and Human Services Department.

The center serves adults with substance use disorders through the Diversion and Alternative Treatment Program, offering an alternative to incarceration for individuals referred by the criminal justice system. While they don’t directly offer detox here, they can connect you with resources if you need them.

With dual diagnosis capabilities, individual and family counseling, and evidence based therapies, the program supports clients in achieving recovery while maintaining their daily responsibilities.

Outpatient Addiction Treatment Programs

Clients typically begin treatment through a referral from the criminal justice system, including police, the courts or the State Attorney’s Office. Walk ins are also accepted through the Central Intake Unit. Outpatient treatment services allow participants to live at home and continue work or school while attending scheduled counseling sessions and support groups in the community.

The program uses cognitive behavioral therapy, rational behavior therapy and trauma informed approaches to address both substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

Individual therapy, couples therapy and family counseling, relapse prevention education and aftercare planning help clients build skills for long term recovery and successful reintegration into the community.
