About Providence Place Sober Living

Providence Place Sober Living is a men’s recovery residence in Portland, Maine, providing structured, supportive housing for men in early recovery from alcoholism and addiction. Located in the historic West End District, the program operates two beautifully remodeled Victorian style houses with capacity for 24 residents, three live in Peer Leaders and a full time Director of Operations.

Rooted in 12 Step Personal Treatment

Providence Place is rooted in the twelve steps of Alcoholics Anonymous, offering a spiritual, action oriented approach to building a foundation for long term sobriety.

Men entering Providence Place begin in a multi phased residential sober living program designed to support the transition from treatment to independent living. When you need detox or MAT, they can refer you to treatment before entering the sober living environment.

Sober Living Programs at Providence Place

Residents are required to attend a minimum of four A.A., N.A. or C.A. meetings per week, work closely with a qualified sponsor and actively engage in the 12 Steps. Daily programming includes group meetings, meditations and facilitated recovery discussions led by staff and peer leaders.

As men progress, they have opportunities to take on leadership roles such as house manager, participate in weekly volunteer service and develop practical life skills alongside their spiritual recovery.

They offer self pay with affordable rent, accepting check, cash or credit card payments online.
