About Recovery Connections of Maine
Recovery Connections of Maine is an addiction treatment program in Lewiston serving adults with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
The program offers outpatient care, intensive outpatient programming (IOP), medication assisted treatment (MAT) and aftercare services using evidence based approaches including CBT and DBT.
With a “from Mainers for Mainers” philosophy, Recovery Connections provides accessible, community based support designed to meet clients where they are and address the real world challenges that complicate recovery.
Outpatient and Intensive Outpatient Programs for Dual Diagnosis
Recovery Connections specializes in treating adults navigating both substance use and mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma and ADHD.
The program’s outpatient and IOP tracks provide structured, flexible care that fits into daily life while delivering the clinical intensity needed for lasting change.
Treatment combines individual counseling, group therapy and skill building sessions grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy.
Sessions focus on uncovering patterns that drive use, building coping tools and addressing the housing, legal and employment stressors that often fuel relapse.
Medication Assisted Treatment and Outpatient Detox
Recovery Connections offers medication-assisted treatment and outpatient detox services to support safe stabilization and long term recovery.
MAT integrates FDA approved medications with counseling and behavioral support, targeting both the physiological and psychological dimensions of addiction.

Levels of Care
-
Outpatient
In outpatient therapy, you’ll attend therapy sessions several times each week while living at home. This is ideal if you have a strong support system and a lower risk of relapse. Outpatient treatment offers flexibility to maintain work, school or family obligations.
-
Aftercare
Aftercare programs provide ongoing support after you complete a rehab program. They may include several components to help you maintain sobriety including therapy, community support groups and relapse prevention strategies. This gives you a network of resources as you reintegrate into your daily life.
-
Intervention
An intervention is a structured and professionally guided conversation with an individual who is struggling with addiction. During the conversation, family and friends will encourage you to seek treatment. This is often a pivotal step for those resistant to getting help.
Detox Service Setting
-
Outpatient Detox
Outpatient detox gives you access to medically supervised withdrawal services while still allowing you to live at home. You’ll attend a clinic for treatment and monitoring. This flexible option is suitable for those with mild to moderate withdrawal symptoms who have strong support systems.
-
MAT
Medication assisted treatment combines medication and counseling to manage withdrawal and reduce cravings for opioid and alcohol addiction. Medications may include methadone, buprenorphine or naltrexone. MAT is tailored to your needs so you can actively participate in your treatment journey.
Programs
-
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Cognitive behavioral therapy focuses on changing harmful thought patterns and behaviors associated with addiction. You’ll learn healthier coping mechanisms by identifying and replacing negative thoughts. This improves your emotional resilience and decreases your relapse potential.
