About Recovery House of Central Florida
Recovery House of Central Florida (RHCF), Inc., in Sanford is a long term drug and alcohol program for men who are homeless and uninsured. Their program is based on Christian principles and values utilizing faith and spirituality during treatment.
Natural Detox without Medications
The center provides relief from physical and mental withdrawal using a natural form of detoxification. They do not prescribe medications. If you have completed detox elsewhere, the center will allow you to bring your prescriptions with you.
Matrix Model Addiction Treatment
Addiction treatment here uses the Matrix Model integrated with trauma therapy, motivational therapy, behavioral therapy and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing. Treatment goals are to provide some repair to the client’s quality of life which has likely been reduced by brain damage and limited brain function due to substance use.
Reuniting Broken Families
Our greatest supporters are usually our family members. The house offers family counseling in an effort to reunite families with stronger and healthier relationships. Counseling is a safe place to work through family issues.
Job and Life Skills Training
RHCF offers job training to render their residents employable. Employability helps eliminate shame, low self esteem, and depression. Working is a sober activity that helps residents overcome addiction.
Residents learn how to be independent through life skills training. Staff train residents how to manage and save money. This training prepares residents to return to their community with resources and assets.
Residents attend 12 step substance use meetings and recovery coaching sessions. Peers offer encouragement and accountability through the recovery process. Enjoyable activities and therapies include physical fitness training, art therapy and outdoor recreation. These activities help residents find sober activities they enjoy.
