About Samaritan Colony Rockingham
Samaritan Colony Rockingham is a nonprofit men’s residential facility with 12 beds on 25 acres about 70 miles outside of Charlotte in Rockingham, North Carolina. Since 1975, they’ve provided a welcoming, healing environment for adult men battling addiction. They’re currently in the process of building a women’s facility to provide specialized substance use disorder care.
To participate in their program, you must complete detox or be free from substances for at least 72 hours before starting. You should always complete detox under the guidance of a medical or mental health professional. Contact your primary care physician or an addiction specialist to find a detox program near you.
Sliding Scale Fee for Those Underinsured
One great feature I noticed was their affordable payment options. A referral from the Sandhills Center makes you eligible for income based payments through a discounted sliding scale fee. If you don’t have a referral, you’ll pay an admission fee before starting treatment and settle your balance after completing the program.

You can attend their weekly Sunday Spiritual Service to explore your beliefs while connecting with others on similar paths. I also think it’s beneficial that they have a family program. You and your family can access counseling and resources to strengthen relationships and heal together. They also provide a weekly family program session every Sunday.
