About First Step Detox
Located in Bridgeport, Connecticut, First Step Detox is an alcohol and drug rehab center for adults. Their programs include medical detox, outpatient treatment and aftercare support, including specialized services for clients with HIV/AIDS and clients with co-occurring conditions.
Their medical detox program helps clients withdraw from opioids, alcohol and other substances in a safe, medically supervised environment. A team of multi-disciplinary providers performs client intake assessments to recommend appropriate levels of care and create individualized treatment plans. If medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is required, providers can administer FDA-approved addiction medications to ease the physical effects of withdrawal, manage cravings and reduce relapse risk during detoxification.
In conjunction with medical detox, clients can also participate in outpatient therapy services to address the underlying mental and emotional aspects of their addictions. In addition to individual and group therapy, case management and medication management, providers also use evidence-based approaches, such as motivational interviewing, to support client recovery.
Upon treatment completion, providers can make client referrals for continuing care. This includes connecting clients to community resources that can support their long-term recovery, including residential treatment facilities and additional outpatient services.
First Step Detox may be in-network with most commercial insurance plans including Aetna, Anthem, BlueCross/BlueShield, Humana and Cigna United Healthcare. Contact your individual provider to verify your coverage because out of network benefits can vary.
