Gaudenzia Crossroads
About Gaudenzia Crossroads
Gaudenzia develops and implements specialized treatment to meet the needs of various client profiles and provides these services in such a manner that social, economic or demographic factors do not limit an individual’s access to appropriate services.
We will achieve this by managing for the long term and by investing in our staff, volunteers and programs; not based only on immediate results, but also considering the evolving needs, in consistent accordance with out mission. We will constantly evaluate and improve the design of our services to uphold our stated values and beliefs in the attainment of our goals.
Detoxification services are for people who are withdrawing from a psychoactive substance. Often times, the withdrawal process can cause physical and emotional discomfort. The detoxification services at Gaudenzia Erie help people come through this process safely.
Upon admission, you will be evaluated by a licensed nurse who will set up a plan to address your detoxification needs. A physician will provide you with a physical examination. The physician will prescribe medication as appropriate and will provide you with ongoing medical monitoring throughout the detoxification process.
Once you are feeling better, we will encourage you to participate in our group therapy sessions. You will also meet individually with a member of our clinical counseling team. The counselor will talk with you to assess what treatment would be the best for you. Once your treatment needs are identified, you will be offered treatment options.
The length of stay in the detoxification unit is varied and depends on the nature of your withdrawal symptoms. The detoxification process can last anywhere from three to six days. A physician will clear you when you are no longer exhibiting withdrawal complications and symptoms.
Gaudenzia Erie Crossroads is staffed 24 hours a day with a licensed nursing staff. Additionally, there are medical doctors who evaluate patients on-site and who monitor any changing medical needs.
