About Merakey Parkside Recovery
Merakey Parkside Recovery is a nonprofit behavioral health service provider in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Established in 1969, this location provides intensive and standard outpatient programs for adults battling substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. You can access medication assisted treatment to start or continue recovery.
Medication Assisted Treatment To Heal Addiction
Their MAT program prescribes FDA approved medications, such as Suboxone, Vivitrol and methadone. These medications can ease withdrawal symptoms and cravings that come with quitting opioids and other substances. You’ll also participate in expert backed approaches, including group and individual therapy, to gain coping skills for recovery.
Family Rehousing Program
For me, their family rehousing program really stood out. This track provides ongoing support and resources for adults who’ve experienced homelessness due to their addiction.
With an emphasis on family reunification, you can participate in family and individual sessions, as well as access addiction treatment resources and vocational and educational programs. They even offer continuous family support after treatment, including Medicaid and household assistance.
Jail Diversion Services
Another standout feature I noticed was their jail diversion program. They partner with the Philadelphia Police Department to provide behavioral and social services, including addiction treatment. You can participate in this program as an alternative to incarceration to reduce recidivism and work towards lasting recovery.
Mobile Intake and Assessment Team
Their mobile assessment and intake services also caught my eye. Their outreach team works in the community to connect people experiencing addiction or co-occurring disorders with emergency services. They can also link you to the best level of care to get started on recovery.
Levels of Care
-
Outpatient
In outpatient therapy, you’ll attend therapy sessions several times each week while living at home. This is ideal if you have a strong support system and a lower risk of relapse. Outpatient treatment offers flexibility to maintain work, school or family obligations.
-
Aftercare
Aftercare programs provide ongoing support after you complete a rehab program. They may include several components to help you maintain sobriety including therapy, community support groups and relapse prevention strategies. This gives you a network of resources as you reintegrate into your daily life.
-
Dual Diagnosis
Dual diagnosis programs address substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions simultaneously. This integrated approach to care improves the likelihood of long term recovery and stability by addressing the root causes of addiction.
Detox Service Setting
-
Outpatient Detox
